Bell’esemplare con la lieve usuale trasparenza del testo tipografico al verso, completo dell'intestazione di pagina con la data, nel complesso in ottimo stato generale di conservazione.
Contrexéville è un piccolo comune francese nel Dipartimento dei Vosges da sempre ben conosciuto per le proprietà benefiche delle sue acque termali, quelle che seguono sono alcune delle osservazioni che fece l'inviato dell'Illustrated London News in occasione di una visita nel 1887:
“Contrexéville, a pretty little village in the Department of the Vosges, about two hundred miles from Paris and lying more than a thousand feet above the level of the sea, owes its celebrity to its mineral spring. The medical properties of its waters have been tested and appreciated on the Continent for more then a century but in England little has been heard of them until lately..” ed ancora a proposito dello stabilimento termale scrive “The hydropathic establishment is fitted up with great taste and comfort, the bath-rooms have been recently improved and are supplied with all the most modern appliances”, cita poi il miglior hotel “the Grand Hotel de l'Etablishment is first rate, the cooking excellent and the attendance good” ed infine il Casinò “Contrexéville posseses a casinò with good reading, card and billiard rooms and a small theatre, where four theatrical representations are given weekly..”
